The Little Red Dog Story
The Little Red Dog, Radar, came to us from the Denver Dumb Friends League after being returned twice for biting. He was on the "three strikes and you're out" plan and I think he knew it. When we had our visit with him and Klondike (our other dog), we were warned that he didn't like other dogs or men. Well, he and Klondike acted like they had known each other all their lives and he has to sit in his "daddy’s” lap daily.
We knew from the beginning that he was going to be a "special needs pet" but we didn't know how special. He is terrified of storms and big sticks and has severe Colitis. Since Colitis is aggravated by stress, we have to be rather careful with him. My husband and I recently retired from "corporate America" and decided to do what we love. I enrolled in Animal Behavior College and became a dog trainer. And that is how the Little Red Dog Pet Services LLC began. We now live in the small mountain town of Front Royal, VA, 60 miles from Washington DC.
Our goal is to help other dogs adjust to their new "forever homes" and become happy family members. Through training, problems can be solved and new behaviors learned.
If you are looking for a dog or cat, there are many wonderful animals at the Warren County Humane Society. With our economy like it is, many people are having to give up their pets to the shelter. I recently adopted 3 dogs from Warren County and everyone comments on how beautiful and well adjusted they are. They came from 2 different home and 1 was a stray and they all get along wonderfully. Please go to

I will give anyone that adopts a dog, one free lesson.
I have now been certified to train shelter dogs while they are in the shelter and when they get their new "forever home". Just like with humans, change can be difficult. If you have adopted a dog recently and need some advice, please contact me. I give free advice over the phone.
